Welcome to the Finding HERself Blog

Where you’ll find inspheration, idealism and insight

As tides ebb and flow in the ocean, our lives are also like waves, forever fluctuating and fluid. Nothing ever stays the same and the only constant we are guaranteed is change.

As I sit writing my first post, I reflect on so many of the waves I’ve ridden throughout my life. Some have been high, some have been low and some have simply been in between but yet they are always constantly in motion. Like the tides, we rise and we fall as we navigate through the waters of our own life experiences.

It is within these moments, I have begun to discover who I truly am and all that I have overcome. Throughout my life, I have risen and I have fallen time and time again but yet I remain. In creating this blog, my goal is to document both the highs and lows of a life already half-lived as I compose and share my thoughts, emotions and experiences with the world.

Maybe it’ll be writing about a broken heart that’s still beating or being the love of my own damn life or maybe it’ll be the loss of my parents, my coming out story or my mid-life awakening.

Whatever it may be, in beginning to tell the stories of my life, my hope is that you will find a reflection of yourself somewhere along the way. Some will inspire you, some will lend insight and yet others will promote a sense of idealism. Regardless of how you relate, I hope they empower you to find the strength within yourself to always keep moving forward.

You see that’s what the Finding HERself Blog is all about. Standing in my truth, proud of all my perfect imperfections and wearing my battle scars like badges. Through my writings and posts, I will share my losses, struggles and heartbreaks with you and how, in spite of them, they shaped me into the woman I am today.

A strong woman knows she has enough strength for the journey, but a woman of strength knows it is in the journey where she will become strong.

I sincerely thank you for joining me in mine.

Always live inspiHERed,

Misti
